Based on the original play by Josef Bush, Written and performed by Elizabeth Huffman, Directed by Louanne Moldovan
About the Play: Josef Bush was an avant-garde writer from the infamous Caffee Cino in Greenwich Village. He wrote French Gray in 1967 to express his outrage at the disparity between the rich and poor in New York.
In it he imagines Marie Antoinette, the former Queen of France, in a filthy, rat infested prison preparing for her execution within the hour. Marie reexamines her fall from grace, alternating between her sense of entitlement, a gallows humor and the loss of her family and home.
The Re-Imagining of French Gray by The Displaced Woman will next travel to perform at the Theatertage Festival in Hanau, Germany & at the prestigious Bremer Shakespeare Company in Bremen Germany in October 2016.
